- Work-outs, debt restructuring, lease renegotiation, and all financial problem-solving required by his clients.
- Advising individuals, non-profits, and businesses that require sophisticated, yet practical, advice on real estate, finance, buying, selling, leasing, structuring and negotiating all business arrangements, and other legal concerns.
- Advising doctors (transactions, privacy issues, informed consent, HIPAA, medical devices, real estate, tax matters, etc.). Extensive background in electronic medical records, employee issues, medical office building transactions, and other needs of medical practices.
- Works as a business mediator helping to resolve disputes in an efficient and effective manner that works for all parties. Alternative dispute resolution usually results in a better outcome at far less cost than litigation or other methods.
Rick also is a Partner of Parkland Partners Professional Services, which is a lawyer/therapist team that helps trust officers, asset managers, and other professionals develop and implement plans for challenging clients who need special hands-on help with finance, legal, tax, business and/or family issues. Parkland Partners serves Trust Departments, Financial Planners, Private Bankers, Asset Managers, Estate and Trust Officers, Financial Institutions, and other fiduciaries.
Rick is Vice Chair of the Taxation Section of the Massachusetts Bar Association, and is Chair of its State Tax Practice Group.
